Texas Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival Participation Rules 




1. Parade Conduct 

○ Participants must maintain a steady pace to prevent gaps in the procession. 

○ Throwing items, such as promotional materials, into the crowd is strictly prohibited to ensure spectator safety. Handing    

out items directly is permitted. 

○ All attire and displays should reflect respect for public decency and uphold the cultural values of the event. 


2. Sponsorship and Branding 

○ Organizations may display their own branding. However, displaying logos or trademarks of third-party businesses or organizations requires prior written consent from the event organizers. Additional fees and conditions may apply.


 3. Political Participation 

○ Elected officials are welcome to participate in their official capacities. 

○ Political candidates may participate, but any form of campaigning, including distributing literature or displaying campaign slogans, is prohibited to maintain the event's non-partisan status. 


4. Safety and Compliance 

○ All participants must adhere to instructions from event officials and security personnel. 

○ No outside food or drinks are allowed. 

 ○ No glass containers or flasks are permitted. 

○ Participants are responsible for ensuring their activities comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. 


5. Flag Usage 

○ The Puerto Rican flag should be displayed respectfully. Alterations or representations that may be deemed disrespectful   are not permitted. 


6. Respect  

○ All participants must conduct themselves with courtesy and consideration toward others, including fellow participants, event staff, and spectators. 

○ Disruptive behavior, offensive language, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated. Everyone is expected to respect the dignity and diversity of all individuals attending the event. 

○ Remember to be polite to your elders, let’s maintain our humble traditions. 


7. Volunteer Guidelines 

○ All volunteers must register in advance, providing full contact information. 

○ Attendance at a mandatory orientation session is required. 

○ Volunteers must wear designated attire and display proper credentials during the event. 

○ Interaction with performers, honorees, or public officials is restricted unless assigned specific duties involving such individuals. 



By adhering to these rules, we aim to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators of the Texas Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival.
